My 5 - 6" Crocea clam closed up sometime yesterday afternoon. He's has never done this since I got him about 8 months ago. I do have an Angel Fish in the tank, but he has never bothered the clam for more than just a second, the clam would close up and then reopen right away. I did notice last night that a Hippo tang took a quick nip at him also. He starts to open up a little, but then closes up very quickly.
Do clams do this on occasion like other Corals - just shut down for a day or two?
Any thoughts on this?
