Crocea mantle ?

I just got two clams today, one 3.5"crocea and a 4.5"maxima.My maxima extended it's mantle very nicely.My crocea's mantle isn't extended normaly,There is some extention somewhere arround half the extention you would see on a normal maxima and at one end, the mantle is just barely overlapping the lip .Is this normal and part of it's adaptation or what?
Lighting Tek 8 bulb , the clams are sitting about 10 " below the lighting.
My water parameters: sg 1,024
pH 8,2
po4 0
nitrate undetectable
ca 425
alk 9dkh
temp 80

The crocea looks better today...I'll keep my fingers cross.

I've got it last Saturday and all my water parms are on target and it's sitting 10" below a Tek 8 lamp fixture.
