crocea/maxima discharge

Hi all, i have a crocea or maxima or one of each. Anyway...the clam in question has be extruding a very thin brown discharge for the past month or so out of its exhalent siphon. basically looks like and is about the same thickness as human hair. i've had the clam for over a year and just started doing this. Otherwise it appears to be heathly. any thoughts what this is? btw, the other clam does not have this discharge.

thanks!

yep clam poo

so...good, bad, normal? why is it pooing now and not before...and seriously this clam has been "pooing" constantly since i first noticed it about a month ago...oh, and my other clam isn't pooing...yet.

thanks!

can you post another pic from above please??

waste usually appears as black, zoox is brown. a clam can dump their zoox under stress but they can also release excess in their waste. getting a better idea of the clams health and tank conditions will tell us which is occurring here.

when you say constantly for a month do you mean 24 hrs a day or you just see it everyday??

please list fish / invert and tank parameters ??

here's another pic...i see it all the time, can't tell if its actively "pooping" or if it's just dangling. to me, seems more dark brown than black...but clam looks healthy. tank params are good.

i agree, he looks pretty happy :)

i would think he's just letting the excess zoox. go with his waste, i have seen this before with mature clams. if his colour starts to fade then you should be concerned, otherwise he is just fine.
