What is the best way to remove my clam from the attached large clam shell?

Can you explain? Is it attached to a shell already on the bottom? If so - I'd leave it. Unless there is dire or great need, I wouldn't mess with a clam's foot. Just my take.

Yes, the foot of my crocea is firmly attached to a large clam shell.

I am going to take your advice and leave it alone.

Well, I promised a pic of the clam once I got my new camera. The pictures I was able to take in 2 minutes without any setting changes yielded a poor representation of its color, but hopefully I will be able to change that once I learn more about the camera's settings:
