crocea under vho's?

i am wondering if crocea will be fine with 110 watt 48" t 12 vho's
was told by lfs i"no problem" what are your opinions?

Put him high in the rocks so he gets as much light as possible.

No that isn't enough light, crocea's are the most light demanding clams.

vho is outdated and in the same car with hd dvd. on its way out.. how about you shop around for 6-8 t5's w/ individual reflectors and go buy the clam you want.

I have 5 VHO's on my 75 and I have 3 Crocea's and they are doing wonderful...well two of them are since I have had them for almost a year now....Just got the new one about 2 months ago......will keep you posted....all three of mine are in what little sandbed I have in the front.....

I don't recommended but here it is my 4 year old crocea under overdriven 4 40W bulbs 6500K, and two 110W URI superactinics, using 2 Icecaps 660, the clam is high in the rockwork. According to IceCap the overdriven 40W bulbs runs at about 80W each. IMO is all about position, also the 40W bulbs gets replaced every 6 months, less than $20 for 4 I also have a 12+/- inch gigas and a 7+/- derasa. It can be done.

While you may get away with VHO, crocea clams are very light demanding. They need MH to retain their bright colors and zooxanthellae (sp) active.

VHO may keep them, but at a very reduced color.
