Three times now my 5" crocea has leapt off its high perch, still attached to its small base rock and landed in my LTA. The first two times this happened, I saw it happen and was able to quickly remove the clam from the anemone with no ill effects to the clam. This past Friday some time during the night, the clam dove off the perch again and landed in the anemone. I found it underneath the anemone early Saturday morning just before we left for a weekend away. Hoping for the best I put it back on it's perch and we left.
We arrived home late Monday afternoon and the clam still wasn't looking so great. It is barely extending it's mantle, but does respond to light and touch.
Is this clam going to pull through? I have no idea how long it had been sitting underneath the anemone, but obviously it was long enough for the anemone to cause some trauma to the crocea.
