My crosshatch trigger stopped eating and i dont know why?

I asked my father to feed him one day and all of a sudden he just doesnt eat anymore. he has feed them many times before...

It has been over a week and he does eat and he doesnt come out.

He looks perfectly healthy which is the weird thing. i dont know how much longer he can go without eating.

Any advice???

Is your xhatch in the 120???? if so, that is WAAAY too small for him and he needs bigger or he will not make it. Also, what is your tank temperature at? It should be 75-76 degrees max.

when i bought him from one of my LFS they said the tank was fine for him...he has outgrown the tank...i plan on moving hte tank within the next month so until then i had no plans of taking him out...bc if i do, i woul have to remove at least half of my rocks jusk to get to where he hides...i just want to be able to get him eating and swimming around again...

So, you don't want to help your fish because you don't want to move some rocks?....I think you should do what is best for the fish, and either return it to the LFS or give it to someone witha larger tank.

I totally agree with SteveJakubiec. If you don't move this fish, you won't have options of saving it. Your LFS will say pretty much anything to sell fish as evidenced by their position on this one.

I agree completely. Your tank is probably to warm as it is a reef and the triggers digestive system could be burnt out from the warmer temps as well. The other problem could be something internal. The fish could be beautiful on the outside but hurting on the inside. Tim

Yes, I seem to recall that this fish is Hawaii based. If so, cooler temperatures would be best.

How does his mouth look? Look carefully. Sometimes the Xanthichthys triggers can get a growth in their mouth that stops them from being able to eat.
