Well the fallow period depends on wjo you ask.....Some say 8 weeks some like myself say 10-12 weeks. I prefer longer to be on the safe side. Your call on that one......
In my case when I added the female to the DT I had no trouble at all. I figured I had a better chance adding the female to the display because there was more areas for her to hide if there was an issue.
I was instructed by a person that I respect very much to always do as close to 100% water change with fish in QT. The better you keep the water quality the better the fish will be. I can't say that logic has failed me yet. Everytime I listen to this person things always turn out for the best.
Its your call how you do it I know I did not have luck putting the male and female in QT together.....Maybe it was a rare thing that they did not get along.....Your call.
