Crust over sandbed?

Iv Benn getting a brownish crustiness over my sandbed for a while now. I did a search and found someone else same thing after using zeo vit which I suspected was my problem I used nano power which was my only change. All peramiters are in chk only change zeo vit and a bit heavier feedings.trying to increase nutrients. That thread I found wad pretty much dead end.Any thoughts?

Any pics of the sandbed. Not sure what product your using. How long has the tank been established? Do you have some parameters to go off of?

I can't post pic.u wouldn't see anything anyway.not til u touch it with something u see top layer is clumped together maybe 1/8 inch.

I had this problem when I started my tank. I was using tap water and it was jacking up my levels. Stuff was settling to the bottom of my sand bed and causing it to have a thin crunch layer on top of it. I just vacuumed it and stopped using tap water and upgraded to a better salt.
