Cryptic Sixline Wrasse (Pteragogus sp.)

they are a very secretive fish. usually hiding for some time before they get the courage to come out for longer than a second. don't put them with anything thats going to harrass them or they will never come out.

I have a trio of them( 1male,2females) and they are Pseudocheilinops ataenia known as the Pink Streaked wrasse.

When they were young.

LOL just dave that trio pic is adorable
Did you put them together at the same time?
What are their sizes now, how do they interact with small shrimp, berghia, and docile fish like dartfish and flasher wrasses?

Anyone have experience with them and inverts or very shy fish?
Do they have as much of a fiesty streak as the six line?

So (hopefully) I'm assuming they do not pose a threat to inverts?

No more threat 'n a Sixline would pose to them.

Darn...I was hoping, given their diminutive size, that they would be less of a threat.

Thanks for the name correction by the way. :)

I'm referring to your small inverts like amphipods, mysids, and such.
Can't speak for how they react to the berghia but sexy shrimp are left alone.

What about other typical inverts such as snails, peppermint shrimp, hermits, pom pom crabs, urchins, mini stars and asterina, limpets, colonista snails?

By the way just dave: What's their average size? Can you add more to the tank after one is already settled?

SuperNerd, although these wrasses are typically going to eat the same things as that of a 6 line wrasse, they are pretty small to bother berghia. BUT both peppermint shrimp and pom pom crabs can be predators of berghia.

DOH!! You just solved the mystery of my disappearing berghia ,saltyunderground. Before I add any more I will relocate my pom pom crabs and, now, my peppermint shrimp. Thank you! :)
