I previously wrote about how I lost my battle to ick. That strain was immune to hypo, copper and quinine. Therefore, I have doubts that it is really dead even though I cloroxed the tank for 2 weeks and drained it.
Have read elsewhere that ich cannot survive drying. However, I want to hear from some of you if you had experience with ich from introducing dry stuff like rocks and used equipments. Can ich cyst enclose itself and reemerge when water is added? Since the cyst is immune to medication, I would imagine its immune to a lot of things.
also, are there any other marine parasites that can create dormant stages out of water? I want to cover my bases in-case what I'm dealing with is not really ich (suggested as a possibility by some members before).
I'm still debating to get a new tank/equipments but its a big financial consideration.
