What type/kind of fish did you treat with this method?

I had three butterflies that were removed from my DT to a separate container for treatment....5 days Ich was gone!

I also treated the DT and remaining fish and they are:

Emperor Angel - 6.75"
Achilles Tang - 6.5"
Queen Angel - 6"
Majestic Angel - 5"
Powder Blue Tang - 4.75"
Auriga Butterfly - 4.5"
Flame Angel - 3"
Blackback Butterfly - 3"

Separate treatment:
Copperband Butterfly - 4"
Golden Butterfly - 4"
Raccoon Butterfly - 3.5"

There has been no return of Ich in the DT.... :)

I think you should try the Crypto in the main reef tank.....I am too scared to try it. People say they have success with it.

He did say he also treated the DT.

Cool thanks. Was wondering because not all types fish react the same to the same medication :)

FishFarmacy, Crypto Pro
(Quinine Sulfate)

Had three fish in my 300g DT (FO system) that is being treated with Cupramine for Marine Ich that could not seem to rid themselves of the parasites. Cupramine at 0.5-.07ppm for 2 months! Other fish doing fine.

i really like your tank and stand...

what i can see from your rug there aint too shabby either..

As a bit of a follow-up, it should be recognized that my fish/system had been treated with copper via Cupramine for close to 3 months. That undoubtedly weakened the parasite with repeated encounters of copper.

Could be that the butterflies that were treated with QS(as a knockout blow) improved so fast due to this weakened state. I have read where some have not had success with QS, and so longer treatments with QS may be needed.

I recently acquired via Divers Den a couple of triggers; a Niger and Redtailed.
They have been in my 40g QT now for two weeks. A week ago I noticed the Niger with what appears to be two Ich spots. I started QS 1/4 tsp/10g a week ago; one spot is gone the other remains.

I will go another week with QS and should not see anymore spots (assuming it is Ich). Difficult to tell as the Niger likes to hide when I get too close [don't blame it at all :) ]

FO no inverts or corals.....NO Quinine Sulfate with corals and most inverts.

I am being instructed otherwise but I am to afraid to try it. A person in NC told me he has been using Quinine in reef tanks for years. Even told me there used to be a product on the market for use in reef tanks that contained quinine but it was removed for some reason.

does somebody know the content of odimedic pro.?..is it quinine...they say it is reef safe anti-bac/anti-ich...

Never heard of it. Can you post a link where to find it. A google search returned nothing.

Well I just watched my tang in QT now my main tank is loaded with crypt......So if I were to do it again I would be treating and not just observing.

Good luck!!!

What dosage? x tsp/y gals; Skimmer off?; lights off?
Is this with corals and inverts?

Thanks.. Not sure what is going to happen. He has been covered for 6 weeks now. It comes and goes in small amounts on some of the other fish. Im debating an adding a cleaner wrasse. I know some say they don't do anything but figured it might be worth a shot. Not sure......

going to order this stuff asap, i really hope it works, since im treating w/o even seeing ich.. i'll treat then watch again and hold them in the qt for a bit

Just to add something to this thread. I will be using Quinine Sulfate in my Reef tank. Curious to see how it works...

For small tanks of <50g, I think the directions are to dose daily with a water change. For larger tanks, dose once every 5 days with a 25% water change....which is what I did for my 300g.

I have done it both ways with success.

very skeptical about this hypo and copper are the only methods.. wouldnt this be more popular.. and sometime it works and sometimes it does not???

idk
