CT 265 Build

Most kind!

Finally received the Vortech MP60 quite drive that I had ordered months ago. Will swap it in tomorrow. Sure hope it lives up to the marketing copy as the vortech is the only really noisy thing on my tank.

It's really a dramatic difference. Have to put my ear quite close to the dry side to hear it. Downside is that I can now easily hear the one remaining non-QD MP40 ..... It's always something

Yeah .... more pictures .....

Yeah .... more pictures .....

Chalice eating gorgonian .....

Clowns tending to eggs and host anemone .....

Resplendents close up .....

Aren't they! They don't look quite as colorful to the naked eye, I'm just not good enough with a camera to get the balance exactly right. But, everyone else seem to 'push' their pictures so why not me

19 Months/14 Months

19 Months/14 Months

I think, as much as anything, I created this thread for myself as a 'journal' of this particular tank. It's amazing how quickly these mini reefs of ours can mature. Photos don't lie .... well, not usually ....

Day 1 .....

After 19 months .....

It is interesting to see what's grown well, and what hasn't. Crowding and shading have been my biggest issue, and changing lighting along the way led to some issues with STN. It's also taken just a little over 14 months for the green slimer frag I got from a local reefer to grow 16 inches to almost touch the water's surface ...... while throwing off a dozen or so frags of its own.

What kind of background do you have at the back of the tank? Is that painted on?

No, it's one of those peel and stick sheets that I screwed up by trying to put on once the tank was in place. Impossible to do without getting a bunch of air pockets as you can see. I figured eventually stuff would just cover over the mistakes- which it has.

Very nice. I hope my tank looks that grown in at 19 months.

Well, FWIW, it's the fastest 'maturing' tank of any I have ever kept - not entirely sure why  Dumb luck? Better equipment? More consistent husbandry? Maybe all of them .....

Think ours is the slowest maturing tank...
