I'll take a frag of the IF echinata, just shoot me a price:)

Dave

lol Three others have asked as well... Not fragging any time soon... :D

OK, I'll just get it from one of my other two sources. Thought I'd offer you a lucrative trade or something.

If it were of size, I'd definately be interested... Unfortunately its taken a while to get going... :(

I don't need much, just a few polyps will do. They all grow with time and patience. You don't think my reef started out as the huge colonies that they are today (I know you know better). I'd tell you the secret, but it wouldn't help my cause don't frag your corals very often!

Dave

I'm sure by the time I frag it, it will be readily available... lol :D Though as slow as the dern thing grows, it won't be for another year or so...

True story, I had a chance to buy the whole colony when James sold his store (Aquascene) and I happened to be there the day the the new owner purchased it. I told him I wanted the echinata and that I would be back later that afternoon to pick it up before my flight. James was in the city setting up an aquarium full of high dollar angelfishes/butterflyfishes/etc. for a high dollar party (one night deal, incredible pricetag as I was told, no wonder he got out of the retail business). The new owner called him before I arrived to get a price on the echinata and James advised him not to sell any corals out of the show tank until he could return and advise him what they were worth. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait around for his return, so I didn't get to purchase the whole colony. I suspect somebody did, and I think I know who it was, but I'll confirm that next week when I'm out there. I did pickup a royal blue Aquascene tort which is huge now and passed on a red stag because it had been fragged down to just the base and was a brown lump but I believe is the coral Clint sells as his red stag.

Dave

Randy,
Do you have any more Tubs left? If so I would just pick them up at your house vs. the swap. Thanks.

Hey Randy, how long did that monti take to grow out that's in your frag tank pic? Just curious- I have no experience with these. Assuming they do best if mounted to non-porous surfaces? Chuck

Thats actually a display, but until the swap it is acting as a frag tank...(To my wife's frustration) ;) It grows pretty darn fast for me... But most of my monti's do... Both the rainbow and the pokerstar grow the best and have encrusted on the starboard and even up onto my front glass...

I haven't noticed that they do any better on non porous surfaces than on LR or anything else. I think it has more to do with how much light/flow it receives... I have even started mounting some of my monti's on ceramic plates to make them easier to frag, and so that they remain flat and receive even light...
