Why did you choose mb7 or Zeobak?

Regarding the placement of carbon, I think you can use both ways. for me the problem placing the carbon on filter sock, is that sometimes I get lazy to shake it twice a day, so I prefer to use fluidizer reactor.

Also I already had this reactor before hand, so im making good use of it.

There's many different dosage for zeovit method, maybe it's best for you to start from smaller dose, and run higher week after week, based on your on going observation. If it's good enough already, then just leave it with your current dosing, please do not overdose it, I did once and it almost kills half of my coral within 2 days, take a great cautions with zeospur2, in low nutrient system it's extremely powerful, start dosing half of the recommended.

actually I never used Zeobak before hand, so I can't really compare it.

When I start zeovit method, my LFS run out Zeobak, so I tried to use Prodibio Bio Digest for around 2 months, but then I realize that every time I dosed biodigest I really waste it. because one ampule of digest rated for 1000lt tank.
That's why now I'm moving to MB7, and I can dose it everyday, just like Zeobak.

Hi Dan,

Could you tell me what is the condition of your tank? is it a new establish or an old mature tank? each have different step I think.

The main purpose of Zeovit is to make your tank, almost zero nutrient, make it just like the real reef in the ocean. once you reach that condition (usually 2 months) then you can start tweaking your sps color by adding more supplement.


If it's a new tank than, I think you need to dose your zeostart + zeobak more than that, try 2-3 times/week (dosed it together). You need a good build up of bacteria.

ZEObak 1 drop a week - try to dose more
ZEOfood7 1 drop a week - I didn't use it, I use phol's extra instead.
ZEOvit stones 100mL - okay, always start from small amounts, change after 1 month/after 1st water change
ZEOstart2 1 drop per week - try to dose more
ZEOcarbon 40ml in a filter sock - 40ml is okay, but after 1 month add another 30-40ml.

I'm sorry but I'm not really a zeo expert, if you follow their guideline you need to dosed it everyday, For me, I'm a guy who always start from small and then get bigger later on. by the way, with your current system a small bottle of zeovit will last you almost a year I think.

tank looks great!, sorry for the old bump. does your autoflush pump on the zeoreactor, does the outlet just point down into the reactor, blowing the zeo around? anyhow thanks for the help!
