CUC crawling off tank!!

Hi there guys,

Every morning since I added my CUC I wake to pick up some of its members off my livingroom floor.

Is this normal or are mine so unhappy with me that they rather die of a head concussion?

They keep crawling up the tank and jumping off. Also they seem to like a particular corner of the overflow comb so they meet there in large numbers (mostly Nerites) and I keep pushing them back down.

I have a rimless Reefer 350.

Thanks for any advice!

The Nerites? (usually they are the ones that do it)
yep.. they are land/water critters and thats just what they will do..
I find my cats playing with them on the floor every once in a while and I just pick them up and drop them right back in..
Many times I will just fine them on the outside of the glass too..

Yup that's just what they do, I had them in my office tank and would find them on the rug occasionally. Just drop them back in, they'll figure it out eventually

I have lost a few myself. I have tile floors so when they hit, it hurts. I stepped on one also.

wait until they climb in to an overflow drain or somewhere else really undesirable.

a well fitting screen, lid, or mesh top will help with that.

but yeah, totally normal.

My Mexican turbo fits into a 1" elbow of my return perfectly..

Well, in order to make it into my overflow pipes they'll need to lift the cover of the box. If they do that then I might as well get them to help in my son's homework.

I have tile too!! They better figure it out soon.

Thanks all!!

They can't figure it out as they have no ability to shout back to their brothers and sister still in the tank. Therefore when one goes missing a search party is made and they go looking for there buddy.

They are tidal snails and will like to be above the water line. I the ocean they can exist out of water till the next tide.

I have a few and they are always gathering at the top of the tank. I have a rimmed tank and the are not sufficient wall climbers to figure out the horizontal move plus I have a screen to keep the jumpers in.
