CUC for macro/display fuge?

I am still in the process of setting up my display fuge, a 30g cube. It's plumbed in and running, has some rock already, and I added 15# of special grade sand today. More rock should be happening this weekend for final aquascaping, and hopefully a macro starter pack next week thanks to a RC member. :)

I have a few pests that are under control in the DT but present in my sump, so they'll also be in the DF:

- Flatworms (mandarin eats them so I don't treat for them)
- Bubble algae (emeralds eat it)
- Bryopsis (emeralds eat it, and probably blue-legs and starry blenny)

Are emeralds a problem in a planted tank?

What kind of CUC should I be looking at? How about:

Trochus snails
Blue-leg hermits
Nassarius snails?

Any other suggestions/comments?

Thanks!

Ceriths! and Nassarius snails! Those two are usually the biggest for macro CuC.

I do have Astraea and a few hermits.

Hermit's aren't recommended as they can do alot of damage, I only keep a few number as they have done alot of damage... to pests. Blue legs don't get too big and shouldnt pose a problem. I have a red leg who would grow a bit larger, but is more of a scavenger.

I had a hitch hiking thin stripped hermit who would have become a monster and really destructive, but he's been thrown into a tub with Live Rock... too forage for all eternity.

I temporarily stored my emerald in my fuge for a short period until I forgot about it (oops) - I remembered it when I wondered where my caulerpa stands all disappeared to.

I would say no no to an emerald in a plant tank. Still trying to get my hands on a clump of prolifera...

Thanks :) I may wind up sumping the larger emeralds soon anyway as I caught one eating my toadstool like it was a giant marshmallow. *sigh*
