Got my snail quick crew today, couple tag along crabs in there. My concern is none of the cerith snails are moving. I have some big and a lot of small ones. The naus snails are awesome...

Also bumble bees are carnivorous, could they kill and eat a large cerith? I might have a tough guy in my tank...gonna keep watching.

Last question I got some chaeto algae also, isn't it supposed to float?

I'm hoping they are all acclimating and one the light goes off the magic begins...

Let me know what you think and what I should expect.

snails take up to 3 or 4 days to awake from the shipping shock. Just leave them be for now..

Bumble Bee snails need to be fed well. They are carnivorous and may eat other snails.. those naucessarius snails are crazy too. I've seen them eat my sick shrimp alive..

chaetos do best when they float near the top.. i use a stick to support it there

Ok so it's been a few days now and I'm not impressed with the quick crew. Seems as though most of the tiny ceriths are dead, the ones that are alive are hermit crabs, this sucks I ordered snails only. All I'm doing now is picking crabs and empty shells.

Probably not going to order CUC from there again...disappointing...

cerith snails do tend to have a bit of shipping shock. I just try to cover them with a little bit of sand just to give them some protection and when they do come around they can easily right themselves and go about their biz.

I believe my nassarius snails are carnivorous as well. Quick to attack any snail that's "falls" on it's back, especially my nerites.

Anyone else experience this?

Check this out, I thought this was a massive diatom bloom but now I'm not so sure...it looks more like a slimy film on everything, sand, rock the black overflow in the tank. When I scape at it it comes off in thin sheets and blows all over the tank...lots of bubble in this stuff too.

Skimmer is working like crazy on this stuff I assume. What do you think it is and will the snails eat it?
