CUC recommendation please

My halloween hermit is a work horse for hair algae. He is probably one of my favorite additions. Even if I do panic every time he molts... lol

I ended up getting 3 trochus and 3 margarita snails. I will get 3 Astrea snails to clean my sands. I believe they like to burrow themselves in sand

That's a super small CUC but if you don't have a lot to maintain yet then it's a good start.

I know you eliminated the blue legged hermits, but they are my favorite. They are cheap, very visible, work hard and are too small to knock things over.

My tank just started and I only have 1 Xenia frag in DT right now. 2 Clowns are still in QT right now.

I actually looking for the Electric blue ones, not the regular blue. Maybe in the future when I have more livestock since I don't want to risk starving them and they will start to kill my snails.

This weekend I am going to pick up 3 nassarius and 3 Astrea

I highly recommend you use REEFCLEANERS to order your CUC. you can customize your pack, have them take a look at your reef and they can customize one for you. They are really cheap too!

If you mix snails and hermits, you will wind uo with hermits.
Hermits will cannibalize each other too.

Yes canadianeh, All my rocks and corals are encrusted together, so my royal urchin can't drag or tip anything over but he's the best part of my CUC.

I'm running a 110 gal and only have him and a few snails and don't need anything else.

I adore my tuxedo urchin! He doesn't drag anything along. I'm bummed he doesn't decorate himself. He has a couple pieces of gravel on him right now but that's all. If you do get one acclimate it carefully, I lost my first one. Not sure if it was from shipping or my fault. I have loose snail shells and so far he doesn't pick anything up.

lol
My guy always has a patch of zoas on it's back. I've had him over a year now.

Lost my last one treating for Dinos with Dino-X. Had him for 3 years and stayed out all the time.

Dino-X kills dinos and ALL your inverts. too. :(

Gotta love those Royal (tuxedo) urchins!
