cucumber damaged

I believe my cucumber suffered a laceration during my recent aquascaping this last weekend. He seems to be moving around just fine but the he is clearly cut about 1/2" behind the mouth. I know cucumbers can become toxic. What should i do? should I leave him in the tank? or take him out? I don't want to lose my whole tank if my cucumber dies.

If you can set up a qt tank, bare, with water from your display, and even just a bubbler for a day or two until it heals, it would be safest. You can get one of those Topfin plastic jobs at Petsmart for not very much---depending on the size of the cuke.

sounds good. I do have a 10 gal. with some deformed FW fish. when I tore down my tank and sold my fish back to the LFS. I refuse to bring deformed fish to the store. But I feel so bad getting rid of them.
