Culling Brown Palys

Brown palys are taking over my tank and they need to go! I’ve tried to frag them with little success- they are imbedded into every crevice and even if I could frag them noone wants them. I honestly don’t want to kill them but I see little alternative. They are worse than apitaisa and hair algae. The rocks also have zoos I want so I can’t just dry the rock out. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can get rid of them?

Kalk paste injected into their mouths should do it -- anything that kills Aiptasia ought to work. FWIW be careful if you're cutting them up inside the tank; they're very toxic. If you can, remove the rock and frag them outside the tank while wearing eye and hand protection. If you need to cut them underwater, run carbon and wear gloves.

If you can remove the rock(s) they're on you could chisel the top layer of the LR away, palys and all. Once they're off your rock just chisel the colony apart, superglue their thin rock bases to frag plugs or rubble and sell the frags :)
