These were offered on Divers Den a few days ago. They had two. I took one and my friend JediMaster took the other. They are Indonesian Cultured true blue Squamosa clams, and they were about half the price these blue squamosas have been going for lately. And to top that off, they even came attached to a frag tile! They are 2 inches. This is the one I got,

both are very nice. LFS her had 4 over the last 3 weeks. I only get to see one the other three was sold by the time I got there. About 1.5 inches for 125.
Back in the late 1990, blue Max (orginally from the Red Sea) was selling for about 200 each. The price come down drastically once they start to farm raise them. I hope in a few years, the price of Blue Squamosa will drop to the price of Blue Max today.

One thing I notice is that beautiful Crocea is not coomon anymore. I think the market for crocea is not there, so not many Crocea are beeing farm raised resulting in very few premium grade Crocea.

Nice Squamosa guys

Ever since Barry sold his clamsdirect business, it has been very difficult to find nice clams. I miss those days where Crocea are a everywhere. Pacificeast is a good place for clams now but seem to have maxima only.

Barry had the best clams, hands down. Not to mention his research and contributions to the study of pinched mantle disease.

Just seen these (small blue Squammies) for sale over in the UK for £125 which is approx. $190
The two above are stunning specimens. Definately with you on prices falling!! UK ones were brought in from Germany - although unless farmed (unlikely) I imagine Indonesia was the origin also. Any others with these lets see your pics!?

More like 15 now lol.

Man, I'm starting to feel depressed on the price I paid for mine when they first hit the country last fall.

I have been wanting one of these guys from DD. How have the clams settled in for everyone? It is a bit of a price tag for a tiny clam...
