DT's Live Marine Phytoplankton vs.
DT's Premium Reef Blend Phytoplankton??

I have read Melev's site regarding culturing phyto. He used DT's as a starter. Can you us the new Prem. Reef Blend in similar fashion?

Thanks.

if its alive, i dont see why not. ive read the same article, seems to take more time than just buying either of the DT's. ive used DT's and Marine Snow, not the reef blend. REEF-ON!

You are probably better off culturing specific strains - check out florida aqua farms, and start with nanochloropsis

If you culture, one of the strains in DT's will eventually take over your culture. I don't see that it would be a huge problem. You can always restart the culture.

I just started trying out Instant Algae, though. I hear good things and, if it saves a bunch of time, I think it'll be worth the money.

Met w/ the rep from Reef Nutrition @ Reef-a-Palooza this weekend. They offer a few varieties of phyto. Thinking of going down that route.
