Question is will it harm them or kill them. I thought u couldnt use any type of copper on eels. A LFS who has eels told me he has used cupramine PLENTY of times in his tanks with morays?? Is he full of it?

Cupramine can be used on eels. It is safe on fish that are normally sensitive to copper. One of the reasons that is the only copper treatment I recomend. However, if your treating ich, than hyposalinity is a viable alternative to copper.

the only reason im leaning a way from hypo is cuz last time i did it my banana wrasse developed lateral line and i lost a tusk. Have u had problems with wrasses and hypo?? thanks

I've treated a number of wrasses, including tusks, with Hypo and never had a problem. I'd be inclined to look at other causes for those problems.

so will hypo or copper kill oodinium? im not very familiar with it and am not even sure if my fish have it and not ich. hopefully not both?! Also can you recommend the best copper test kit for use with cupramine? thanks again

Only copper will like Marine Velvet between copper and hyposalinity.

During hyposalinity, the water can go haywire easily. One of the hardest things to do is maintain the proper pH and to keep it stable. The fluctuating pH can cause a lot of stress on the fish and lead to many maladies.

ALWAYS us the copper test kit recommended by the copper medication manufacturer. In this case, if you use Cupramine made by Seachem, then you should be using the Seachem copper test kit to control the copper concentration 'in the kill but not deadly to fish' zone. :)

Yup, what Lee said ;)

Oodinium is not affected by hyposalinity. Copper is the best bet for that one.
