Cupramine and prazipro

I've done it before but now I go through cupramine first then prazi. Some people use prazi first because it's not as hard on fish as copper but in my experience parasites like crypto, velvet, etc are deadlier than internal parasites so I treat with copper first.

16 days minimum for cupramine. That includes the initial dose. Then run poly pad or carbon, do 25% water change and add prazi. I do 5 day prazi treatment twice about 48 hrs apart.

I had done a "short" QT protocol before and it failed me. I tried 6-7 days of Coppersafe and 5 days of prazi on angelfish and still ended up with Ich after. So I stopped cutting corners after that.

most people tend to do 4 weeks with Cupramine @ .5ppm strength.

PraziPro - you want to do two dosings, 5-7 days apart. the first dose kills the adults, then it takes a few days for the eggs to hatch (not killed by the first dose). so the 2nd dose kills the new hatchlings. this is technically doing the same thing CoralsAddiction is saying with "5 day prazi treatment twice about 48 hrs apart"; just note that PraziPro loses its effectiveness after 3 days, so you are OK to do a water change around that 3 day mark.

I have done cupramine at various treatment lengths, and found that > 30 days is needed for consistent success.
