Im setting up a quarantine tank in my garage and realized i put some of my pre mixed saltwater in the the qt tank that had some prime in it. I know You cant dose cupramine with prime. What should I do? It will be awhile before I actually use this tank because I want it to cycle any everything. Will the prime eventually wear off?

Thanks

Was the tank with the Prime empty and dry? if so, its fine. Maybe just wipe with vinegar and rinse to be sure. ( That should be SOP for any tank in the garage anyway.)

No, I mean the water that I added to the QT tank had prime in it.

I know its a weird question, Im just wondering if I should completly add new water to the qt or if Prime wears off over a certain amount of time.

I mis-read the post too. Both products are made by SeaChem, they have great tech support, maybe give them a call. (888-seachem, I think).

i've read after 24hrs, it is okay to add cupramine into SW mix that has prime in it. I use RO water, so i havent ever tested it out. To be safe go with 48hrs.

In your case, it'll be weeks before you add any cupramine.

Filled the qt one night with prime added and added cupramine the next evening no issues yet been months.
