Cured Marshall Island LR availability?

I plan on ordering about 150 lbs of MI live rock next week from you. I finally have my 150 gallon system plumbed in nicely and everything has been running great for about a week. I also installed the Turboflotor Baby I ordered from you, and tested it with fresh water. I really am looking forward to seeing how this skimmer performs with saltwater. All the Deltec guys here keep telling me I should've gone with an AP851 instead, but I figure I'll give this unit a try. If it doesn't perform, I'll sell it on ebay and get the Deltec. Do you guys sell Deltecs?

I drained the fresh water out today and fired up my RO unit, so my system should be full of fresh mixed saltwater by Saturday. I'll be ready to place an order for LR early next week, but I am willing to wait a while if you do not have enough cured MI in stock.

I really love the rock in Talonn's pictures, especially the pieces in pictures #6, #9, #18, #20, #23, & #25. That is absolutely beautiful rock.

What I'm looking for is about 100 to 120lbs of XL pieces 10" to 15" and another 30 to 50lbs of large pieces 7" to 10". Please let me know if you have enough cured MI to fill my order, and please email me a quote. My closest airport is FLL. I have no problem waiting if you cannot fill my order now, as I'm really not in a big hurry. Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for your inquiry. We do have some good size pieces of Marshall Island right now, but we only have about 200 - 300 lbs left in stock. We have 1200lbs showing up this afternoon, but we are looking at about 2 weeks until that is cured and ready to go. If you want, we can pull out of the stock I have now, or we can wait, just depending on when you want to receive it. We shouldn't have any problem pulling out the sizes you are looking for.

On the skimmers.... we do not sell Deltec. We do have EuroReef's though, and if you decide to go that route you might want to wait another month or so until their new impeller design and pump is ready to go. So far, tests on these pumps and impellers have shown to pull in double the amount of air flow vs the equivelant sized Deltec. For a skimmer that comes within 5% efficiency the way they set now, and IMO will be more efficient than a Deltec with the new equipment, all of this at a fraction of the cost would lead me to believe the ER would definitely be the way to go. I think a lot of the Deltec craze has to do with "it costs more, so it must be better" mentality. I am not saying they are not good skimmers and do not work well, because they do. All I'm saying is that I think they are way overhyped.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Please let me know tomorrow what the stuff looks like that comes in today. If the new shipment has really cool looking shapes (better than what you have now), I will wait until it is cured. If you're certain you can pull what I'm looking for from your current supply, I'll order it on Monday. I don't mind waiting to get nicer stuff.

As far as the skimmer goes, I'll wait and see how the Turboflotor 5000 Baby performs. Based on the bubble injection I see running it in freshwater, I think it will be fine. Do you have any experience with this skimmer? If for some reason I'm not happy with it, I will consider the new improved EuroReef.

The quality of Marshall doesn't really vary from shipment to shipment. It pretty much all looks good! :) I will have more to choose from with the new shipment, but the pieces will be similar.

I have never ran the Shorty, but we do have a 5000 Twin running here and it's not bad. It doesn't make you look at it in "awe" or anything, but it does work.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I'll call you later this week to place an order for the LR.

What sized system are you running the 5000 twin on? How do you think it would compare to a large Euroreef CS12-2-RC? I'm not too familiar with these needle wheel skimmers, but an 8" wide 78" tall skimmer sure seems like it would work much better than a 12" wide 30" tall unit. Please give me your honest opinion.
