Just got some dry rock and want to use it in my new tank build I have 45 pounds already amd want to add the base rock to my new 75 g tank. What is the best way to cure the rock? How often to I change the water? And is there a way to speed up the curing I know I need to take my time but want to add the base rock and then my live rock on top of the dry rock
Thanks for your help

I'd put them in a bucket with tank water and run a powerhead 24/7. I'd check ammonia every 24 hrs and when it's 0 I'd put them in my tank.

I agree with Jminick2, just rinse them off and put straight into your tank during the cycle. That's what I did without any ill effects.

I would put them in a separate container with a power head for two days, then check the phosphate. If the phosphate levels have risen, then rock is leaching phosphate. If it is leaching phosphate you wanna buy this http://smile.amazon.com/SeaKlear-SKZ-U-Q-Phosphate-Remover/dp/B0017SV6HU/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1436199292&sr=8-9&keywords=seaklear ( I know it says its for pools we use it in the aquarium hobby all the time to remove phosphate thats bound up in rocks its lanthunum chloride) Dose a capful every few days to bind the phosphate. Once you've reached a point where the rock is no longer leaching i.e. your test kit is showing 0 phosphate. Only at that point I would add them.
