After I added another stream I realized that it did not hum like the the first one I had in there. I figured the hum was normal but now seeing as the new one does not hum at all I am wondering if this noise anything to be concerned about?

No, it is likely just an imperfection on a part, it would not be anything electrical or major. I would check all the pieces, sometimes the magnet has a small imperfection at the base.
yes, while I was cleaning it once I did notice some very small bits of the magnet were broken off. maybe half a centimeter only. I bet that is the culprit. The pumps works fine. So should I not worry about it?
