Hello,
We are just starting out first reef tank with a BioCube 29. Right now we have a pair (Hopefully) of perculas, and some live rock. It would seem that there were a couple of hitchhikers on the rock, and I was hoping for some help identifing them:

After a little searching it would seem that this is some sort of whip coral, but we aren't sure.

We have no idea about our smaller friend here.

Any help would be appreciated!!

The coral looks like xenia. I'd start trying to pull all that feather caulerpa there behind it out, it will take over your tank.
The 2nd pic, is it hard or soft? If it's soft, it's probably some kind of macro algae. If it's hard, it's forminiferans, which are not an issue.

+1 on ripping that caulrpa out. Or get some mexican turbo snails. My first tank had the feathery stuff and the mexi turbos made real short work of it. Only downside is they are poop factories.
