Hey guys! I am curious what the best ways to move a 125 gal saltwater tank with sump, live rock, 6 fish, 1 star, 5 crabs, sand of course, to a 265 gal tank.....I just finished resealing the 265, water tested and everything. I plan on having either a 75 gallon sump, or two 40 gallon joined sump. I will be moving out of a 3rd story apartment into a house. I have a RO unit that I usually make my own water, but not sure what the best way to go about moving everything, whether it be a company locally, or self. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Personally I'd hire movers for the tank, stand & sump. Recruiting friends for a 3rd story move without a freight elevator sounds nightmarish to me & well worth the money. That gets set up first. Having the mixed water ready or a fast RODI is a big help. Isolate the tank in the moving truck against the from wall, secured with straps with foam between tank & wall. Make sure nothing loose can move into it during emergency braking.

The rock & animals are in brutes and/or buckets and moved into a vehicle with a 75F internal temperature to the new location. Rock goes in and you watch for a mini cycle. When the coast is clear you reintroduce the animals.

Big job! Good luck.
