hey all, I was thinking about building my own skimmer and was wondering what everyone thought about counter current style. I have a 29t DT with a 20g sump and I guess a medium bioload. I knw that they are really easy to build, and need to be relatively tall, but was wondering about their actual skimming ability compared with all the high tech stuff out there. I may end up just buying a new one, but i love tinkering so i would like to try. Also I was wondering if anyone new what the theory was behind the new cone skimmers. What does the cone do for bubble production/foam collection that a wide cylinder can't? Thanks in advance.
