Current USA Arm Hanging Kit (how does it work)?

Does anyone have the Current arm hanging kit? I am interested in one of their fixtures, but can't figure out how the arm kit attaches to a stand or the floor. Can someone let me know, or take a pic of their setup? Do you just screw the arms into the back of your stand?

This is the one I'm referring to:

Here's what it says on Currents site.....

Our new arm assembly provides a convenient way of hanging your Current-USA fixture of your aquarium system. Designed to fit flat-back stands, they are easy to install and include all of the hanging hardware. Compatible with our Sunpod, Outer Orbit HQI, SunDial HQI and Nova Extreme Pro fixtures. Designed for flat back stands, arms measure 48" tall, (44" H from the top back mounting hole) and 12" wide (from center screw hole to inside back of arm)."

So it must attach to the stand. The weird part is that they are 12" apart. So for most peoples stands there would obviously be limited place to connect them. Hopefully they have A LOT of different points where you can attach them(lots of screw holes). The "44" from top back mounting hole" leads me to believe that there is only a hole at the 4" mark to attach it and that's it. If that's the case it doesn't instill a lot of trust from me. Unless it's very thick metal.

I also tried finding a manual for it on Current's support site but no luck! Their description is a little vague, isn't it?

I guess worst case scenario I can build a wood fixture that the poles could bolt onto. I'd still like to hear if anyone has experience with this setup, though.

I just installed this with an outer orbit m/h t-5 light and it works pretty good. I just setup a new tank so I installed it prior to adding water to the tank. I did drill another hole in each arm to help stabilize it a little better. I had a few issues with the kit though. The holes for the srews are at the very bottom of each arm which doesn't help for stability. Also the box they come in isn't the best and they were knicked up a little and I had to respray the arms with some flat black spray paint. Otherwise they look great!

do you have some pictures you can post to get a better idea of how its set up? i too would like buy this kit for my Sundial but the description on these arent that great

I'm sure a drill & some metal strapping would be all you need to mount securely.

I've seen similar setups using metal electrical conduit. Bend it, paint it, drill a few holes & just mount to the stand with some u-clamps. My Current fixture came with a hanging kit that could be retrofitted to the conduit.

My question is: Can the actual hanging kit be trusted?

What paint should I use for the metal electrical condouit? I want to use something that will be harmless to the tank.
