Custom 50 gallon cube build thread! (Pics)

That is one sick skimmer! Do you have yours yet?

I did a quick search for a price but couldn't find anything right away... could you tell me how much you paid if you don't mind. I wanna know if its in my price range :) . you can PM it if you dont want to post it, thanx.

I think your aquascaping will look excellent once it is covered in corals. How did you build the scape? did you drill and connect the rocks with rods, or are the pieces big enough that they just stand up on their own?

Milleme: I haven't received mine yet but I believe the running price is something around $459 + Shipping, which is a flat $10 fee for RC members where I'm ordering from. Its a little on the pricey side I know, but I am pretty severely limited on my sump space and that meant I couldn't really go for other cheaper skimmers which could have done the job. If I had the room, I probably would have just gone for a DAS-EX1 for a few hundred less, but what can you do? Plus, I'm a big believer in getting the best skimmer for your tank.

Thrillreefer: Actually, I just got lucky on the pieces I picked. These are all free-standing and just happen to lock together well. Truth be told, my scape is a little different after I attempted to drill a plug hole in one piece but it still looks pretty good.

True that.

I just bought my 24' 60 gal cube and am in the stand building stage. Could i get another picture or two of the stand please.

this setup is very similar to what I am shooting for. But I went with a closed loop. How are the Tunze's working out? Am am thinking of getting two Hydor Koralia's for the front top corners of the tank.

Tron: What kind of pictures are you looking for? If you're looking for interior pictures, that might be hard as its pretty cramped in there already and I doubt you'd be able to see anything anyways. Just let me know what you're looking for and I'll try to oblige.

As for the Tunze's, I couldn't be happier with them. They are quiet, don't add any heat to the tank, and with the mod I did they pump out some seriously wide flow. Also, I would definitely reccomend them over the Hydor's, especially in this small of a tank. They take up so much less room than Hydor's and also come with the Tunze name and guarentee.

What are you hoping on running the Closed loop with?
