I contacted a company here near hayward and waiting on a quote. Thanks for the leads. I want to get my tank running soon and I still need a sump and holes drilled in the tank. Any leads on who can help me drill the tank for a ghost overflow?
If you're ordering an acrylic sump from Aquatic Collection, it's going to be an Advanced Acrylic sump. I ordered a custom acrylic tank through them.
Just curious -- are you looking to go custom due to size or a different design? The only reason I ask is because a many of the stock sumps these days have lots of features and are well built. Trigger Systems comes to mind. I have one of their Tideline sumps and I love it.
I want a custom sump because I can't fit a 48" 1 piece sump in my cabinet. I want to have a 2 piece sump where 1 box is my fuge with a bulkhead and pvc that flows to the 2nd box pump compartment. on the other end would be my skimmer. with 2 pieces, I can fit each piece in and use up the full space of my cabinet. I had an oceanic 120 before that was a similar setup and it worked really well. most sumps now have the fuge flow into the skimmer which would suck all my pods. with this design my pods would make it safely (as long as my fish don't see them) into the tank. hope that makes sense.
watching all them youtube videos... it seems really easy to drill. I may just attempt it myself. I do like the ghost copy overflow they have on ebay and rather go that route. I've had a cpr fail on me which resulted in losing all my rose anemones and a mess to clean up. bad memories.
