Custom hood for a 55 gallon?

The whole front of my canopy is on a piano hinge, so it lifts up easily for feeding. Since it's just a 1/4" thick skin, it's lightweight.

Eric not sure if you remember my 120 hood but like Josh's I used multipal hinges so that it made it easier for bulb changes and overall ease to the tank.

Good luck with the build. It's not as hard as you might think.

How is that chameleon cage holding up? I used some of the same structural ideas from the chameleon cage for my hood.

Chameleon Cage is holding up as good as Ever . The Cham on the other hand has a pretty progressive kidney Disease. ( The name of the disease escapes me now , allthough even if I could remember it I couldn't spell it) We have spent a ton of money on treatment and the vet , and basically it boils down to how long he can hang on. It is starting to become a quality of life issue now. He is alive but not sure how much longer he can hang on or we should let him , ya know... He is an old guy at this point and the disease was not from a lack of proper care , just smething that hits Veiled Chams once they hit a certain age.....

You said it! ... I am pretty f'n depressed over the whole thing... Never thought I would be so attached to the thing...

I don't have any pics of my old hood, but I'm willing to give any advice/help if needed. They aren't that hard to build. This is Wes, formerly of Wes and Michele btw.
