Custom made or not

I am looking at getting a 90 gallon tank for this setup and I was hoping to get some input on custom build or just buy at the local store.

The local store is a braced tank 48x18x24. The custom one is 1/2 think glass rimless 48x24x20. I am thinking the custom one will look pretty slick and have more room for swimmers.

However the custom made tank is quite a bit more money. About $1200 cdn.

Feedback? Thoughts? Things to consider?

Thanks!!!

Personally I don't really see the value in a custom tank but they do look soooo nice. If you have the cash to spare go for it but it's not Needed.

Yes, they look beautiful, the lower profile, wider stance and no rim!!

Back and fourth. I think I may have found another custom tank supplier.

Another additional question, should I use eruobrace or not? Is it worth the extra support vs the look of cleaner lines on a 90 gallon?

You've been in this game a while, so do you know yourself well enough to know what you like?

I have a 220 gallon tank in the garage that I've not liked from the moment I took it off the truck. It's a nice tank. Low iron glass up front, drilled how I asked, it's perfect.

Except I really wanted the 30" wide variant instead of the 30" tall. At the time the 30" wide was quite a bit more, so I buckled and went with the cheaper one.
Don't recall what it cost or the difference without looking it up.

IMHO, get the tank you want, not what is a good deal...You don't want to drop a couple grand on livestock and equipment, and look back and wish you'd spent that extra $ for the tank you REALLY wanted from the beginning.

Trust me on this: You will forget how much you "saved" when you discover you bought the wrong tank.

Yeah I am going custom for sure. But now I am wondering if eurobrace is worth the support over the look.

I actually signed up in 2009 and ended up not setting up and now am just returning to the world.

Properly designed rimless tanks are going to hold up just fine.

Executing the rest of the build with that look in mind is the challenge I believe.
big clunky lights...
tops to contain jumpers...
over the top returns...

Thank you, yes I see they have come a long way with LED fixtures though.
