custom making a serial cable?

Ok--I've got an ACJR with the serial port option on the way--what do I need to have to connect it to the computer?

From what I've seen the unit uses a mini-din 8 female connection on the controller.
So I guess I need to get from that to a standard DB9 connection that my computer has.

What's the quickest way to make one of these? Or a link to a cheap pre-made cable that works?

I'm just trying to have this part done before the unit arrives.

You need a serial cable connect it to your PC; our part # is SERPC9. The required connections for the cable can be found here: http://www.neptunesys.com/hardwareFAQ.htm#CABLE if you wish to make your own cable.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just going to purchase the cable from Marine Depot as it's not that expensive.

Make sure you get the right one. There is another cable that is made to update the firmware on ACJrs without a serial port. You don't want that cable...
