Custom Reef Structure (LOTS O' PICS)

Here is just something I've been wanting to do for a long time and I finally got around to doing it. Its a little messier than I would've liked, but this is the first time I've done this type of thing with rocks so I'm not too worried about it.

Looks good. What did you use to stick the rocks together?

Expanding foam called "Great Stuff."

I thought that's what it looked like. I've used it for false backs on vivarium set ups. Good stuff, but I wonder how long it holds up when totally submerged.

Some of my buddies on other forums have used it for their aquarium/reef setups and say they wouldn't change a thing. Hopefully it'll be the same for me!

You can also put epoxy on the "Great Stuff" and then sprinkle sand over it to make it look real. The sand sticks to the epoxy.

Thanks for the idea, Jim. The original idea was to wait until it gets covered in coralline, but I'll think about doing that.
