custom sump??

i have a silicone Question.


I am siliconing in my baffles for my sump today and i bought GE silicone 1 but its white and not clear.. anyone know if its ok for use in the aquarium or do i need the clear one?

Not good. You need the GE Silicone II. Don't get anything that resists mold.

hey barbara.. are you sure you arnet thinking of silicone 2? the bottle for 2 says its mold resistant.. the 1 does not say that..

im just wondering if its going to be a problem being the white color. or if you have to use the clear silicone specificly.

if it was 100% silicone
it wouldn't be white

hey steven on the tube it says 100% silicone rubber sealant.

You are correct. I have the 1 in clear.

It's just going to look funny in white, but since it's just the sump maybe it doesn't matter?

thanks.. it really doesnt matter to me the sump will not be viewable. only to me and as long as it works i dont care.

You should be able to use white no problem. My overflow has black silicon holding it in place. And GE I is the right stuff to use.
