Custom tank build

Wow that is awesome. Where did you have the glass cut? I'm looking at upgrading my tank and can't find the dimensions I want so this might be an option. My only concern is that I've never built a tank so it makes me a bit nervous.

I get all my glass cut at Glendale Glass. I was in your boat I was not satisfied whats so ever with standard dimensions so this is the route i had to go.. tank building really isnt that bad the worst part of it all is the preparation TBH..
 
Did you go with starphire/ low iron glass? I'm not looking to go as big as you but if you don't mind, maybe could you pm me with a cost break down?

No i did not go low iron as much as I REALLY REALLY wanted too but the price difference was too much for me to swallow LOL Ill PM you here in a little after dinner.
 
Looking awesome!

The octopus pile of electricity sitting there is can be a bad scene waiting to happen!
Maybe some drip lines and setting the octopus on a bucket or something to get it off the floor - wet carpet and electricity could be disastrous!

I look at electricity as a monster waiting patiently to attack and giving the chance it will.

Also, the dollar store pot scrubbers may actually be Tribbles! Have you counted them to see if you have more than you bought, they reproduce at an alarming rate!

I couldnt agree more.. I will shoot an update pic I have all the wires cleaned up and are set on top of a milk crate.. Also have the entire system plugged into 2 inline GFCI plugs!!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

How's the tank coming along? I'm looking into building my first glass tank I have built over a dozen acrylic tanks but the acrylic is getting annoying. Would love to pick your brain cost, how you built the jig and so on..

Sorry for the delay. So The tank was coming along great until I accidentally broke one of the side panes of glass while moving it around. After the glass broke I was sick and honestly just about gave up and left the hobby. But after a few weeks I gathered myself and got a new piece glass and now have the tank back together and is currently curing. If you have any questions about the build please feel free to post them here or PM me.
 
Ok so I will be cutting my euro braces this weekend I will make sure to take some pictures. After the holidays I will begin building the stand.
