Cutting and Extending Level switch cable

I want to install a water sensor in my R/O makeup drum for low water alarm, however it is installed in another room so the cable needs to go though walls. Does anyone know if the float level switches cable can be cut and re-joined with a plug ?

Also are there only 2 wires in the plug active and hence a 2 wire plug ok ?

Why not use the VTN5 saves you mistakingly frying your controller.

For a few $$ it would be my choice

Yes i did see though however i did no want to have to drill a 15mm hole through the wall's to get a 5mm cable though. I though i could just cut and then solder it onto a plug.

Cost was no the issue.
