Cutting down Acan skeletons?

I picked up 3 Acan lord frags at a swap the other day. they're about 2x2 in length and width. the height of the skeleton is about 1", and they look kinda awkward protruding from the rocks, i also read this will inhibit their growth.

looks silly to me.
id like to remove the bottom portion of the skeleton. im adept with a rotary micro carver, and have a tile saw bit that i think would work, but ive never fragged or cut any stony coral.
anyone have some advice, or an alternate placement idea?

Yep, leave em be if you want them to grow. they will eventually fill out and dome up over that producing a nice colony of polyps. GL
