Cutting Tunze wires and adding a quick-disconnect connector...question

Hi...

I have a pair of Tunze 6100 Streams on a multicontroller, and want to make it easier to take them out to clean: the pump wires go up through a small hole in the top of the tank, so I don't have a quick way to remove them from the tank without unscrewing the controller lid and disconnecting the wires.

I've been thinking about cutting the wires before they enter the tank and splicing in a quick-disconnect connector, to make it easy to disconnect them and take them out of the tank to clean. Has anyone done this? Any recommendations on the connector? The pumps are 45W, so I don't think there is much of a power draw concern, but I was wondering if anyone has done this before.

Thanks...

Arthur

Arthur, I've recently attached the streams to the Tunze magnet-holders which can be moved around easily. I've been able to attach them high against the back panels which I can tootbrush them clean between their soakings. Bob

Someone has done it before and I am undoing it now. Don't do it. The connector will be a source of frustration when it comes un done, gets wet and shorts, etc. Their just is no perfect way to do it.
