Hey there,all...

I usually post over on the mantis Shrimp forums, but I have the opportunity for a very well priced 96 gallon, and , as I already have a 120 in the works as a reef tank, I wondered if this would be suitable for a Cuttlefish.

Species suggestions?

Lighting suggestions?

I am going to have a fair bit of LR for hiding etc, and some corals (mushrooms, mostly, I want to leave him/her a lot of space to swim.

Species that are cuttlefish compatible? Would a lLion or a Puffer be ok, larger peaceful fish suggestions? I don't want to crowd the Cuttle (and I am new, so please shoot down this option if they don't play well with others).
I know that shrimp/crabs etc will become food. Would a larger lobster (if the cuttle os small) be OK? I really like those blue lobster with the huge antennae, and this would be long enough to house one.

Thanks for any input.

Well, firstly I would really suggest you get sepia bandesis. It is one of the smaller species of cuttlefish. It is really cool..i have one that is so small ...Its only 1" really difficult to find..

Please don't give a light that is too strong.. A faint lighting is better. If the lighting is too strong, your cuttlefish would become
blind within days..

Provide it with alot of place to hide away for you when it is treaten..Alot of bushy plants and caves will do..Feeding it not that difficult..Ghost shrimps, crabs, fishes anything even frozen prawn will be accepted.

To me, i find that a "Tang" species will do maybe a yellow tang..not to big if your cuttle is small...Just try not To get territorial fishes like damsels or powder blue tang as they may attact your cuttle if it gets to them...

I would not suggest that. As your cuttlefish may/will fight with it and surely will lose out and may/will be eaten..They will also fight for food and if your lobster actually grabs your cuttlefish other that the food, it will also be a great lost for you...Your lobster may/will also frighten your cuttlefish thus causing it to INK your tank.....

Gd luck!!!!
