Cyanic Bacteria issue

Shocky

New member
In both refugiums I have a ton of red bacteria. Julie the host of our meeting in February showed us a filter pad she used to kill this in her tank. Can anyone tell me the name of this filter pad and where to buy it locally?

Thanks for the help.

[welcome]

I think the pads are called Pura Filtration Pads. She gets them from Fins in Franklin, if I recall correctly. They may have them at AC, which would be closer to you.

The pads filter out a bunch of stuff, including phosphate. Sometimes phosphate isn't measurable by aquarium tests because it is so rapidly being eaten up by algae, and in your case probably the cyano.

YEP, that is the pad, sorry took me so long to get online, I would have gladly given you that info, but thank you crumbletop for providing the info. This pad has done wonders for my tank....good luck with it...they are like 8 bucks a pad.....
