Is it safe to say that if you have cyano in your tank, then sps will probably not do well, or worse? I know that's a bit of a generalization, but perhaps not.
In other words, deal with your cyano issues first, then try sps?
I'll take the bite at the chance of getting tagged by the "cyano police".
I would agree with sirreal63 as I have a pretty well developed SPS/LPS tank, and I have a spot or two of cyano from time to time (on sand bed, couple of low flow rock areas) . Doesn't seem to affect any corals with PE or growth. I am of the thinking that being the oldest of living things, let it be as its just part of ecosystem. Been diving enough to know that cyano and all types of algaes including turf style are plentiful on reefs in carribbean and part of ecosystem.
