Alright so I had a little hair algae outbreak and it has now just cleared up and now I am having a cyano outbreak...What can I do to clear it up? I read any antibiotics but that will kill all the good things also...any opinions?

gimmic is right. Close the drapes, turn off the lights. You may have to do this once a month for a while. Your skimmer will help get rid of this. Do NOT use chemical/antibiotic treatments in your first year.

Cyano bacteria....HAD IT.....GOT IT.

UPGRADE the flow............LIGHTS OFF FOR A FEW DAYS.

Fish dont care about the light. BUT the corals do.....HOWEVER 2 to 3 days with out light & they will be just fine.

Also, before you do all of this.....Puff the rocks & all the Cyano Bacteria off with a turkey baister. Then suck it up in your water change..........THEn....add the water flow & turn the lighs off for 3 days.

Cyano will not grow if there is a good water flow in that area
