cyano problem

I'm hoping somebody can help me out......I have a cyano outbreak, but it's only on my sand and slightly on my star polyps.

Water tests are all normal - PH 8.2, zero for amm, nitrites, nitrates, phosphates....calcium and alk in good range.

I only feed once a day and run T5s I moved my powerhead to hit the cyano areas, but it did nothing! The weird thing is the back area with no flow has no cyano!

I also have a supp with a ton of micro algae, lighted at night. I have about five fish, two cucumbers, brittle stars, emerald crabs, and snails. My only corals are assorted mushrooms (that grow like crazy), a bubble coral (doing good), and my half alive star polyps (the cyano keeps covering them).

Any thoughts would be great!

GFO stands for granular ferric oxide. It is used to bind phosphate in the water column. The best place to get some is bulkreefsupply. Check out their website or do a search in the water chemistry forum here to get more information on it. Good luck.
