cyanobacteria during curing?

currently have a 45 gallon tank with 60 lbs of live rock in its six week of curing. i realize that an algea bloom at this stage is to be expected but wasnt sure about the cyano. It is getting pretty nasty at this point and is starting to cover my substrate as well as many rocks. Is this common during curing and will it go away as the ammonia and nitrites decline? Also should i be doing water changes to help combat this? This is my first post and any comments would greatly be appreciated.

All sort of nasty microbes are common during cycles, including cyanobacteria. You can siphon it out if you want to improve the looks, but it usually goes away on its own.

I would definitely be doing water changes if I had the time and energy.
